London travel study program brings Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University students across the pond

Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University students from Culture & Civilization, British History and British Literature courses traveled across the pond to London May 11-21 as part of the Travel Study Program. Museums, galleries, palaces, cathedrals, abbeys and universities were among the many destinations visited throughout the trip.

While in London, the group of students visited Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Natural History Museum, along with many other sites that London has to offer. They also attended a performance of “Antony and Cleopatra” at the Globe Theatre as well. Students also had excursions to Cambridge University, Oxford University and Bath.

Highlights of the trip included visits to the Museum of London, British Museum, the Charles Dickens Museum and the Kensington Palace. The group also took a river cruise boat by the House of Parliament on the way to Greenwich via the Thames to explore the Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory and the Museum of the London Docklands.

The nine students who attended the trip included: David Alarcon, Henry Alarcon, Adam Baccega, Patrick Frank, Sabrina Hill, Kalina Matt, John Pryzbyla, Penelope Strid, Taylor Whalen and Gaylord E. Workman. Faculty members Dr. Eileen McMahon, professor of and Dr. Nancy Workman, professor of , led the courses and the trip.

The Study Abroad office provides students at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University the unique chance to complement and enhance their academic careers with a variety of international academic opportunities. Programs run anywhere from a few weeks to an academic year and offer Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå courses that can fit into general education, elective, minor, and/or major credits depending on the program.
