Abraham Lincoln statue model finds new home at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University’s Fitzpatrick House

The Fitzpatrick House, home of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University’s History Center , recently added a very limited edition, small-scale model of the Abraham Lincoln statue at the Lincoln Landing in Lockport. , founder of Give Something Back Foundation, has donated the statue, which is on display at the Fitzpatrick House just east of the main Romeoville campus off Route 53. The original, life-size model of this statue is on display at Lockport’s Lincoln Landing in Lockport, Ill.

The Lincoln Landing provides an opportunity to discover this historic landscape to learn about Abraham Lincoln, the Illinois and Michigan Canal, and Lockport. The centerpiece of the acre interactive park, on the old Illinois & Michigan Canal, is David Ostro's sculpture of Abraham Lincoln as a young Illinois legislator. There are other elements in the interactive park that provide further information on Lincoln, the canal and Lockport.

Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University’s History Center strives to preserve the Midwest’s heritage, with a special focus on the Illinois and Michigan Canal. Through the collection of historic documents and materials like the Abraham Lincoln statue, the center also promotes research and activities involving core areas of public history.
